Art as self care
Creating Art - an act of self care
Stress turned out to be a big teacher for me. As I leaned into writing, drawing, and painting to help me slow down, I noticed I could breathe deeper and regulate my nervous system. It began back in 2017, when stress was at a high point. I decided to do a 12 week challenge. This was straight out of Julia Cameron’s book ‘The Artist’s Way’. I committed to 3 journal pages every morning. A habit was born as I noticed a shift in my body from high stress, fast moving to slow and steady. It had a major impact on my body and how I started the day. A grounding energy that helped me settle into a calmer way of being.

What rituals and daily efforts or practices will I do to help me navigate and influence how I move in this world.
