Being flexible in life - riding the wave instead of fighting it. Going in whatever direction life may take us, feeling into it. Creating your own way of coping. For me, it was to create, it was a way to find the freedom when I felt restricted. Find the balance when I felt off center. Find a rhythm, a dance, a movement, when I felt stuck.

A Chinese proverb states, ‘It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.’ That insight moves me to believe that the light we each carry can be brought into any situation.

Amanda Gorman took stage in Washington DC and read her beautiful poem to which she states, ‘There is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.’ I made the below in one of my art journals after I heard her speak. It was just the reminder I needed (again) to be the light instead of asking that of others. Starting with myself, working on my flow, was enough.
