ADDICTED TO ART SUPPLIES!
So, when I started doing art, attending classes, learning new techniques, color combinations, working with different mediums...I simply had to have all these supplies. Could I really be an artist without all these supplies????
Graphite pencils, TwinTone Tombow, Faber-Castell, Micron, Uni-ball-Signo, Sharpies....that is only the pencil and pens and only half of what I have!
Then there are the different canvases, aqua board, wood panel, watercolor cold press, hot press, rolls, mixed media journals, papers....
Paints - ohhhh, anything from what you can get at Michaels or Home Depot to the items only available at Dick Blick....Golden (heavy, medium, light flow- what are we talking about here?!?!), Daler Rowney droppers, Liquitex, Alcohol Inks, sprays...oh my!
Anyway, I truly invested in having all these supplies, part of it was the experimentation of it all. Seeing another artist at work and seeing the way everything came to life, I felt a strong urge and need to have all these things myself. But the truth is, so much is in your head. It's like having a lot of clothes in your closet. It's nice, but you always go back to your steady Eddie. You may have 10 pairs of jeans, but you know the 2 you ALWAYS wear....well, I think art supplies are often like that. You find out what you like and you just go with that!
